THIS IS SPINAL TAP Sequel Sets September Release Date, Will Include Elton John

According to Nerdist, a sequel to the iconic mockumentary "This Is Spinal Tap" is officially happening. Rob Reiner is returning to direct and will also reprise his role as documentarian Marty DiBergi. Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer are also back to portray Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins, and Derek Smalls, respectively. The sequel will pick up with Spinal Tap after a long hiatus, prompted by the death of their manager Ian Faith, as they are contractually obligated to perform one last concert. The film is set to be released on March 19, 2025, the 41st anniversary of the original.
