New MAGIC: THE GATHERING SPIDER-MAN Cards Revealed at SDCC

Wizards of the Coast has announced a major collaboration between Marvel and , with the first set scheduled for a global release in 2025. This multi-year, multi-set partnership is part of Magic's successful "Universes Beyond" series, which has previously featured crossovers with properties like The Lord of the Rings and Doctor Who.

The announcement was made at the "Marvel: Next Big Thing" panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, where three preview cards featuring Spider-Man characters were revealed:

• Spider-Man: Allows you to draw a card the first time you deal combat damage to an opponent each turn.
• Ghost-Spider (Gwen Stacy): Utilizes the "phasing" mechanic, allowing her to phase out and then back in to trigger abilities.
• J. Jonah Jameson: A unique card that can create "Spider-Foe" creature tokens, representing Spider-Man's various enemies.

This collaboration marks a significant, long-term venture between two pop culture giants, with more Marvel sets expected to follow the initial 2025 release.
