DC Comics and Marvel Comics are collaborating on new crossover comic book one-shots, marking their first such joint venture in decades. The initial announcements, made at MegaCon Orlando 2024, revealed two pairings:

  1. Batman/Deadpool: Scheduled for release in August 2024, this one-shot will be written by Chip Zdarsky.
  2. Wolverine/Wonder Woman: This one-shot will be written by Gail Simone.

These crossovers are highly anticipated by fans, as the last major collaboration between the two publishers was JLA/Avengers in 2003-2004. The new stories will be published under DC's "Elseworlds" and Marvel's "What If...?" imprints, indicating they will be out-of-continuity adventures, allowing for creative freedom. The article expresses excitement that this could open the door for more inter-company crossovers, reviving a beloved tradition.
