Beyond Fest 2025 will feature a 12-film retrospective titled "Está Vivo: The Gods and Monsters of Guillermo del Toro," celebrating the director's three-decade career. Del Toro himself will attend the festival, which will include new restorations, director's cuts, and rare 35mm screenings. The retrospective is divided into thematic sections: "In the Mood for Love" (featuring Crimson Peak, The Shape of Water, and Nightmare Alley: Vision in Darkness and Light), "From Sketch to Screen" (Hellboy, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and Blade II), and "The Early Years" (Cronos, The Devil’s Backbone, and Mimic: Director’s Cut). The event will culminate with a screening of Pan's Labyrinth. Additionally, Pacific Rim and Pinocchio will be screened at a different venue. Del Toro will participate in Q&A sessions for several films. The retrospective is being held in anticipation of his upcoming film, Frankenstein.
