In this episode of Navigate the Day, we explore the idea of becoming an expert in what matters. Seneca's philosophy encourages us to take a step back from the external measures of success and take stock of our own lives. In today's journal prompt, we ask ourselves whether we are balancing our lives better than the balance sheet of our business.
As I reflect on this prompt, I realize that I am lacking in both balancing my life and my "business." It's discouraging to know that I am not living up to my potential for a well-balanced life. But, I also know that I can't expect my life to become balanced just by sheer willpower or wishing for it.
I've been focused on finances lately, and as a result, I've neglected my personal affairs. This has caused me undue stress and turmoil, and it's not fair to those around me. I need to put more effort into balancing my life, but it's going to be difficult for me as it stands.
Trying to balance life seems like a luxury I don't have. I've neglected my responsibilities for years, and I need to start building a foundation to stand on. I know I have changes to make, but procrastination, inner self-talk, and outer noise are my biggest obstacles.
However, I also know that time is precious, and I need to start utilizing it properly. I need to get clear about my values and use them as a guide to make the difficult decisions that I've been avoiding. It's time to become an expert in what matters to me and live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
Thank you for listening and joining me on my journey of self-discovery!
