2025 July 26 - Globular Cluster Omega Centauri

In today's image, we see the globular cluster known as Omega Centauri. Globular clusters are among the oldest parts of a galaxy. However, this cluster may actually be the core of a small galaxy whose outer layers have been ripped off by the gravitational forces of the Milky Way.
