2023 April 01 - NGC 2442: Galaxy in Volans

In today's image, we see a barred spiral in the constellation of Volans. Note the distortion of the upper spiral arm which was likely cause by the interaction of this galaxy with another galaxy in the distant past. This galaxy is now located in the upper left portion of the image.
