2022 October 06 - NGC 4631: The Whale Galaxy

In today's image, we see the Whale Galaxy, also known as NGC 4631. This is an example of a spiral galaxy as we see it edge-on as a flattened disk. We can see the blue star clouds and the pick glow from hydrogen gas signifying star formation.
