2022 December 24 - Comet 2022 E3 (ZTF)

In today's image, we see the comet known as 2022 E3 (ZTF). This is a long period comet that will only return to the inner solar system after hundreds or thousands of years. It will reach its closest approach to our Sun in January and to Earth in February. However, it is not expected to brighten to the point where it can be seen without a telescope or binoculars.
