Dasakam 017 - Sloka 08

तावद्विबोधविमलं प्रणुवन्तमेन- माभाषथास्त्वमवगम्य तदीयभावम् ।

राज्यं चिरं समनुभूय भजस्व भूय: सर्वोत्तरं ध्रुव पदं विनिवृत्तिहीनम् ॥८॥

Tāvadvibodhavimalaṁ praṇuvantamena-

mābhāṣathāstvamavagamya tadīyabhāvam ।

Rājyaṁ ciraṁ samanubhūya bhajasva bhūyaḥ

Sarvottaraṁ dhruva padaṁ vinivṛttihīnam ॥8॥

தாவத் வி³போத³விமலம் ப்ரணுவந்தமென-

மாபாஷதாஸ்த்வமவகம்ய ததீயபாவம் ।

ராஜ்யம் சிரம் ஸமனுபூ³ய ப⁴ஜஸ்வ பூ⁴ய:

ஸர்வோத்தரம் த்ருவ பதம் விநிவ்ருத்திஹீநம் ॥8॥

तावत्-thenविबोध-विमलंwho had been cleansed of all taint by knowledgeप्रणुवन्तम्-एनम्-who was profusely praising Theeअभाषथा:-त्वम्-Thou did tell (him)अवगम्य तदीय-भावम्knowing what he had in mindराज्यं चिरं समनुभूय(that) after enjoying kingship for longभजस्व भूय:attain, thereafter,सर्वोत्तरं ध्रुव पदंthe loftiest of status of Dhruvaविनिवृत्ति-हीनंfrom which there is no return

He then sang Thy praise profusely, having been purified and enlightened by pure knowledge. Knowing what he had in mind, Thou blessed him to enjoy the kingdom for long and then attain the loftiest of states, that of Dhruva, from where there is no return to lower states.
