अहो आरण्योऽयं मृग इति हसन्तं बहुतरै- र्दुरुक्तैर्विध्यन्तं दितिसुतमवज्ञाय भगवन् ।
महीं दृष्ट्वा दंष्ट्राशिरसि चकितां स्वेन महसा पयोधावाधाय प्रसभमुदयुङ्क्था मृधविधौ ॥३॥
Aho āraṇyo’yaṁ mṛga iti hasantaṁ bahu-taraiḥ duruktair vidhyantaṁ diti-sutam avajñāya bhagavan।
mahīṁ dṛṣṭvā daṁṣṭrā-śirasi cakitāṁ svena mahasā payodhāv ādhāya prasabham udayuṅkthā mṛdha-vidhau॥
அஹோ ஆரண்யோ’யம் ம்ருக இதி ஹஸந்தம் பஹுதரை:துருக்தைர்வித்யந்தம் திதிஸுதமவஜ்ஞாய பகவன்।
மஹீம் த்ருஷ்ட்வா தந்ஷ்ட்ராஶிரஸி சகிதாம் ஸ்வேந மகஸாபயோதாவாதாய ப்ரஸபமுதயுங்க்தா ம்ருதவிதவ்॥
अहो आरण्य:-अयं मृग"O this is only a wild animal"इति हसन्तंthus ridiculing withबहुतरै:-दुरुक्तै:-विध्यन्तंand many abuses lashing outदितिसुतम्-the son of Diti (the Asura)अवज्ञाय भगवन्ignoring (Thee) O Lordमहीं दृष्ट्वाseeing the earthदंष्ट्राशिरसिat the tip of the tusksचकितां(the earth) tremblingस्वेन महसाby Thy powerपयोधौ-आधाय(then) placing (the earth) in the oceanप्रसभम्-at onceउदयुङ्क्था(Thou) did prepareमृधविधौfor a fight
O Lord! Thou ignored the ridiculing words of the Asura that this is only a wild animal and the many abuses hurled by him. Thou saw the earth trembling in fear at the tip of Thy tusk and so placed her firmly on the ocean by Thy power. Then Thou at once were ready for a fight.
