Getting Your Child (and Yourself) Ready for School Day 1

There will always be Day 1s, and they can be the scariest, even for us adults! It's never too late to prepare, to practice, to present a plan for any Day 1. 

If your child seems to never be ready to get into something new–a class, a performance, a trip–check again.  Check yourself!  Check out this episode. 

I have some words of encouragement, and some suggestions from seasoned teacher-parents Dr. Dina Ocampo and Teacher Nina Jacob-Soliven. 

Thank you, Justine Yambao, for the delightful childhood memory you shared.  We can never be fully prepared for Day 1, and first times. But we can learn from them, and laugh about them.
