Melvyn Lubega is an actuary by training, an experienced technology entrepreneur and investor who has built businesses that serve customers around the world. He founded Baobab Group in 2015 which now has employed 2000 people. He is most notable for building GO1, a leading technology platform used by 17,000 organizations and governments in over 66 countries. He has also founded a logistics company that works across Africa, leveraging on technology to address gaps in the logistics industry. 

GO1 became SA's first unicorn  valued at +$2 billion attracting investments from Salesforce ventures and Microsoft amongst other tier-one international investors. One of his passions is rooted in solving economic, social and challenges using disruptive technologies. He has recently been appointed as South Africa's new lead of Digital Service Unit by The Presidency which will drive the implementation of the roadmap for the Digital Transformation of Government.
