Elders play an essential role in Christ's church. They support God's anointed ministry by encouraging the saints and watering the messages. Watering is a term used to mean meticulous care, given the way a gardener nurtures tender plants. Saints are in various stages of maturity, yet the church provides an environment that fosters growth and development in each individual. Brother John and Brother Sam are able men with a lifetime of experience in God's work. Noteworthy qualifications of an elder include being "blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach. (1 Timothy 3:2)
