I know, marketing is typically not your favorite part of being an entrepreneur.  It's hard to put yourself out there.  Plus, the amount of time, effort and sometimes money is overwhelming. All of it feels worth it if it's working.  Wait, what does "working" mean? Does it just mean sales?  That's what your intent is, right?  But what if you don't have sales yet.  Does that mean that none of your marketing is working?  Should you just throw in the towel and give up?  Should you just hire someone to do it for you?  Or maybe, you should give up your dream of being an entrepreneur and be a contractor for a company that does the marketing so you don't have to. Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!  Hold on.  It's going to be OK.  I promise.  There's a lot of your marketing that IS WORKING.  You just don't know where to see that evidence. There are many stops a potential customer makes between learning your business exists and making a purchase.  Every step has a component of marketing.  When you can see the evidence at each step, you'll know what's working and what's not.  It's great to discover where things aren't working, because you know exactly where to experiment to get it working.
