The ’80s seemed to have been one of the most popular decades in pop culture history, as its influences, music, books, video games, and movies seem to continue to inspire stories today. Even if you didn’t live thru it, you have experienced it thru John Hues or Steven Spielberg films, or more recently, thru video games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City. The movie that our conversation covers today came out in the twenty-teens, but it is a love letter to all things ‘80s, and we bast in all of its nostalgic glory.
Ready Player One is rated PG-13 and was released March 29, 2018.
The film stars Tye Sheridan as Perzival / Wade, Olivia Cooke as Art3mis / Samantha, Ben Mandelsohn as Sorrento, Simon Pegg as Ogden Morrow and Mark Rylance as Anorak / Halliday.
