Craig Capurso writes his own Eulogy...

Thank you for celebrating the life of Craig Capurso with me today…

Driven would be the most widely accepted single word of Craig’s life. This quote from Aldous Huxley was one of Craig’s favorites.

“Every ceiling when reached, becomes a floor, upon which one walks as a matter of course and perspective…..”

It tells a story in it’s words of a life driven to learn.  A life on a quest for higher eduction.  A life of goals and achievement.  It’s a life of a purpose and significance, which Craig has spent the last 15 years working towards.

Craig pursued life with a chip on his shoulder.  Sports taught him how to self discipline and take criticism which fueled his passion even more.  I think he secretly like to be told he was not good enough because it helped him narrow his focus on what he had to do.

This chip gave Craig a relentless pursuit of success and achievement. An all star youth that played baseball on team USA that went to Cuba, to his collegiate years as a 4 year starter on the Football team, boxing as a sanctioned amateur for Charity on Wall St, turning pro and comparing against the best physiques in the world in the IFBB, landing Magazine Covers as beacon of inspiration in the health and fitness world, Trading Oil on Wall St, Co-Founding a silicon valley based software company named Metron to help provide a better online experience for his fitness programming, to owning and operating a group fitness kickboxing and functional fitness facility named Rockbox.

This list can go on but one of Craig’s greatest accomplishments is Faviana… His daughter.  Craig loved the opportunity to teach her .. this was his biggest project with a storyline that has yet to be finished, a fathers love is undeniable, but there was something about their bond that helped him forget the world when they were together.  Craig’s copilot in life is his Wife Wendy, she stood by Craig through it all.  Married for 6 years, but together for 15.  If you know the Capurso’s you know this relationship had some spice to it.  Neither party knew how to hold their tongues, so you would often get fire works but this helped the two air it out and move as one in a very strong family unit.

Craig found faith later in his life despite growing up Catholic.  After taking a Religion class in college he choose to step away from his faith as he struggled to find what was right about his religion, but God found another way to interject his will in Craig’s life.  Around the time Faviana was born Craig saw the light and with enough random occurrences that now looking back were not random at all Craig dove in.  Moving to TN from California helped him find other passionate Christians and support for his faith.

Craig was not afraid of death knowing that this was only a temporary stop on Gods plan so … don’t be saddened by this loss today but join me on honoring a man that lived with a driven life with stories of success that did more than he didn’t and required your best to be in his life.
