On today’s episode, I chat with Dr. Bridget Glazarov [ @dr_bridget ], award-winning general and cosmetic dentist, and breast cancer survivor. Bridget completed her Dental education at the prestigious New York University School of Dentistry and was Chief General Practice Resident at New York-Presbyterian Methodist Hospital. Widely considered as one of the top rising star cosmetic dentists in the country, she currently practices at Les Belles Dentistry in New York City. Bridget was diagnosed and underwent treatment for invasive breast cancer in 2018. She now speaks on behalf of breast cancer survivors and anyone who needs support as they navigate their own breast cancer journey. She is a champion for the cause, and a beacon of hope for all women impacted by the disease. She strongly believes that it’s important for people to become aware of their own mental and physical well-being so that they can recognize when it’s time to step back and focus on themselves. On this episode we dive into: How she found out she had breast cancer and the process she went through. How her cancer experience has changed her life. How her journey has inspired - and continues to inspire and help others. The importance of putting yourself first and knowing when to take a step back.Knowing when to be easy on yourself and to listen to your body. Why it’s so important to do things you love to do for you - and no one else! The take-home: “Don’t try to be a hero. If you need to take time off, do it.” Looking back, Bridget advises that if you need to take the time to focus on yourself, it is extremely important to do so. “Be easy on yourself and truly listen to your body,” she says. People are constantly living in a “go-go-go” state of mind and you sometimes just need to slow down and take time for yourself. She advises to truly be mindful of your lived experiences. She stresses that physical strength isn’t what is going to help you — it’s the mental part. “The mindfulness is what is going to get you through it. The strength is all mental.” No matter what life throws your way, you need to tell yourself that you are going to be okay and that there is no other option. In your lifetime, it is so important to be present and to do things for you. Spend time with people who make you feel good and be present and grateful in the moment. You never know if you will get that moment back again.Get in touch with with Dr. Bridget Glazarov: Business Instagram: @dr_bridgetWebsite: https://www.drbridget.com
