The discussion on  the book “Cvil Government”  concludes - (you made it – congrats on reading to the end!!) with one final discussion on Chapter 15.   Church exists within the confines of the state, but it is not the role or responsibility of the church to control the state.  The church does not tell its members how to vote, or politicians how to lead.  Yet those citizens who are politicians and those citizens who are church members do have the responsibility to be active in the affairs of the state.  Yet they can come to their own conclusions about how best to accomplish the goal of establishing and maintaining a fair and functioning government.   The church can’t change hearts nor do we want to see it try.  Only the gospel can create faith and only faith can drive a desire to stand up for God’s truth.

We are glad to offer you this last episode in the series and would love to have you check out some past episodes or tune in to hear our next episodes of Most Certainly True Podcast.

CIVIL GOVERNMENT

As Christians living in this world, we are citizens of two kingdoms. The first is the spiritual kingdom that we are a part of by the grace of God and the work of Jesus! The second kingdom of which we are citizens is an earthly kingdom that is ruled over by civil governments. God gives us civil governments to keep us safe and to be a blessing to all people. Governments take care of their citizens and provide safety, comfort and assistance to their people. In this podcast series, we will be looking at what God says to us about how to glorify him as citizens of earthly kingdoms.  Check out our discussion of the book “Civil Government” from the People’s Bible Teachings Series from Northwestern Publishing House. Contact the Grace church office to purchase a copy, or else get your copy directly from www.nph.net. There are Kindle or Nook editions available from the appropriate retailers. But you don’t need to have a book to check out the podcast and enjoy the discussion. Thanks for joining us!
