Another incredibly insightful episode sharing the newest Voice to the Mortal And Strong campaign - Nirusha. Nirusha, in her 30's, went from someone with a professional career, embracing life travelling the world as a Scuba diver instructor but then faced multiple life changing problems in quick succession, turning her world on its head. After a major accident 2 years ago in which Nirusha broke the majority of the right side of her body, leaving her requiring multiple mobility aids and having to learn to walk again (which she just achieved weeks before this interview) Nirusha shares how the psychological challenges of this recovery being harder than the physical battles. Further to the accident recovery, we also share her ongoing journey with Endometriosis, Adenomyosis and her recent ectopic pregnancy which ruptured required major surgery. Nirusha has a fierce desire to live and the fact that within a month of her accident she was determined to find a way to push through with her wedding no matter what, and still continues to scuba dive shows the immense strength of her character. We are honoured to have her as one of our Voices.
