Sean was a child performer and had to deal with the pressures of performing and at times not wanting to. He was very alone and had to cope with all of his emotions at such a young age as well as the anxieties around the way he looked, his weight, his skin and even looking at his shadow as being too fat. This was an extremely challenging period of his life. He had to deal with being bullied, moving schools a number of times as a result of his talent and the unfortunate prejudices in our world. Ultimately there came a point when enough was enough and he wanted out. He needed time off to deal with his emotions. He then went back to music to initially play, then study and perform. For me he had unbelievable courage to do that. He currently works in education and the music industry and talks about a new relationship with his father now that they’re both older and have a completely different perspective on life. I truly hope you enjoy our conversation as much as we did.
