THE NRL SHOW- FULLBACK POSITION , JAMIE SOWARD VS BEN HORNBY PLUS CANTERBURY BULLDOGS

This week's episode of ‘ The Playbook’ we talk about the important role of Fullback. The key match up of two Dragon greats Jamie Soward and Ben Hornby. As well as diving into the repairs that the Bulldogs should make to get their season back on track.

The evolution of the position, the strategies and tactics that modern coaches use, as well highlighting some of the greatest fullbacks to play the game both past and present, and how fullbacks attract fans to watch these players bringing excitement and memorable moments. The importance also of having a defensive fullback that can organise and communicate to make sure that players are in the right position on the field.

In ‘The Match’ we paired toward St George Illawarra Dragon great that led them to Premiership glory back in 2010, both Jaime Soward and Ben Hornby. Both legends of the game who complimented each other's styles. An unstoppable pairing that dominated through the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, both players were rewarded with representing New South Wales at one stage of their careers. Both players have gone on to have success after their careers with Soward becoming the Head of St George women's side  and Hornby being a successful assistant coach at South Sydney.
