On this week's episode, in ‘All Ball’ we discuss LaMelo Ball, the 3rd pick in the 2020 draft and the Rookie of the Year award for the Charlotte Hornets. Ball has improved every season and looks as though he will be a big part of the Hornet's future with his elite playmaking and shooting skills.
Ball played his first season out of high school in the NBL, and was one of the pioneers for playing in Australia and other overseas leagues rather than taking the college route, which clearly didn't stunt his growth as a player. In the 2021-22 season, Ball proved again how versatile he is, averaging 20.1 points, 7.6 assists and 6.7 rebounds in 75 games this season.
In ‘the Match’ we discuss two rebuilding teams, Orlando and Oklahoma City, who had the 1st and 2nd picks in this year's draft. Both teams have solid young players, and seeing who will take the next step faster will be intriguing, as both have had trips to the finals in the past after taking generational talents as high draft picks in Shaquille O'neal and Kevin Durant.
And to round out the show in ‘Rapid Fire’, we look at the Broolyn Nets and the recent rumours of trades involving their two star players, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. After 3 seasons of being at the club, and their last two playoff runs being disappointing, will they run it back for another year?
