On this week’s episode, in ‘The Huddle’, we discuss the Los Angeles Lakers. Two seasons ago, The Bubble Lakers were a forced to be reckoned with, but fast forward to the 2021/22 season, with a star-studded line-up featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Dwight Howard, the Lakers finished the regular season at .402, and narrowly missing the play-in tournament. Having fallen below expectations this season, will the Lakers bounce back and bring the Larry O’Brien trophy back to L.A. or will it be another season of sacrificing draft picks for top talent? 

Our ‘All Ball’ segment will be discussing the 2004 Number 1 Draft Pick, Dwight Howard. Being cast into a leader at the Orlando Magic due to immense abilities to rebound and score, have now faded and lead to him becoming a role player at the Lakers. Could this be due to the ever-changing NBA player landscape or has Dwight lost some of his abilities? And where does the 8-time NBA All-Star and All-NBA team, 3-time Defensive Player of the Year, and NBA Champion, does this warrant him to be a future Hall of Famer?   

And to round out the show in ‘Rapid Fire’, we talk about the career of Doc River. With Doc being controversially included in the NBA 75 Coaches list, we discuss if this inclusion is justified based of his career achievements at numerous clubs, or unjustified. After coaching a number of All-Star players, will we see Doc turn the 2022/23 NBA season on its head and bring the trophy back to Philadelphia?
