When you are your authentic self, your actions align with who you truly are, at your core. Of course this is easier said than done, since the world we live in puts so many expectations on us to fit into a tiny little perfect box, tied with a beautiful bow. Reality is, we don't all fit into a box, and that's completely okay. You deserve to live your authenticity, to shine like the beautiful bright light that you are.
Maybe you have fear on showing up as your authentic self to your family, at work, to your friends, or even to your partner. So many people experience this for various reasons- things you learned in childhood, not being accepted by others when you do live in your truth and authenticity, or even your own inner shame.
In this episode, we give you 5 tips on how to be your authentic self. The deepest, most aligned version of yourself, who you are when no one is watching.
Our five tips are:
- Get to know yourself, the most authentic version of yourself. Who are you? What do you like? How do you want to show up? How would you live your life if you weren't held back by self-doubt, perfectionism, or people pleasing?
- Releasing the blocks that keep you striving to live in that tidy little box, the blocks that hold you back from living your authenticity. Why don't you live your life the way that you want to? Did someone tell you that you can't live as your true self? It's not their choice how you live. Release it. Did society make you believe that you cannot express yourself? Screw society, you're a unique butterfly, spread your wings! Release it.
- Listen to your inner voice, the voice that is there when you quiet the rest of the chatter. Your highest self, your authentic self, is always with you. They are ready for you to step into your truth and will always support you.
- Speak from your heart, be vulnerable, use your powerful intuition. You have so much magic to give to the world. Don't hide behind the walls that you put up in your past, break free of them. The next time you want to speak up and share something with someone, a stranger, a friend, a family member- do it! When you speak from your heart, you're speaking from your authentic self, and even if it's challenging sometimes, it's aligned.
- Be present, practice mindfulness. The world gets in the way of our authenticity sometimes, and it's easy for our ego to rear its head and load up the programs from our childhood that we've used for years to cope. Being present allows you to remember who you authentically are.
