When we connect to our passion(s), we can get this rush of excitement that we finally have found our thing. However, when the path isn’t smooth or it starts to lose a bit of luster, we can feel even more lost because isn’t passion supposed to be easy, sacred and filled with aliveness all the time? Didn’t someone say that once you find what you’re passionate about you won’t work a day in your life? Well, what’s wrong with us!?
It turns out that passions are not some cosmic path handed down from on high, but a byproduct of our developmental experiences, both good and bad. Passion is neutral. Understanding our stories, and that passion is neither exalted or base, gives us the relief to know we can’t really be lost because this is a thread of our entire life.
