I Ain't CUTE

Hey, Girl! Of all the things that you can call a GAW ( Grown Azz Woman) I find it incredibly insulting to refer to them as cute. Why? Great question. Society places a lot of value on youth, especially for women. So, as we age the marginalization takes on an entirely different form - erasure. It shows up in language and words like "cute" are used to ignore our full and rich lives. I ain't cute. Cute is nonthreatening & and small. That ain't how we rock in midlife.
