If we say yes to anything that doesn’t help us make progress on our goals, our values and our purpose in life, then we are giving away the time and energy we could be using on the things that matter. Thinking through what is worth your time is the first step. Then we need to be bold enough to say no to two persuasive people – other people that we care about, and to ourselves. Saying no to yourself is being brutally honest about what you’re doing with your time and if it’s in your best interest to keep doing it. When you feel like you can’t find time to make progress on things that are deeply important to you … learn how to say no to the people and projects that are overtaking your time.
