Advent (Week 1): Hope :: 12/1/24

John Driver explores some of the historical contexts that led to the Church’s observance of the season of Advent, and specifically, why hope is the gateway to the joy, peace, and love we celebrate every Christmas. Like the older Simeon in Luke 2, we can also wait with confident expectancy because the salvation outside of ourselves that we so desperately hope for has not only arrived, but is also still arriving in increasing increments of light within our present and future lives.
