Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us of the many seasons of life and work. It is with honor, excitement and, of course, a bit of sadness, that we share Garret’s season with Men of Iron will close at the end of January. You can read more about it at menofiron.org/resources/thank-you-garret. Our mission at Men of Iron is to change a culture one man at a time. For the past eleven years, Garret Barbush has worked alongside our tremendous team to accomplish just that. We’ve seen thousands of men impacted, and their testimonies speak of lives changed for eternity. On the next several episodes, Garret is going to share about his journey with Men of Iron over the last 11 years and some of the highlights along the way."Great mentors go to bat for their proteges. Bryan took a chance on me to lead Men of Iron. Who do I need to go to bat for? " // Garret BarbushSHOW NOTES:Highlight # 1 – 2011: Founder Bryan Zeamer asks Garret to work full-time for Men of Iron as Executive Director. This was the first official hire for Men of Iron. Bryan took a chance on Garret and that's what great mentors do, they take a chance on other men. Who do I need to go to bat for?Highlight #2 – 2012: We hosted a meeting in Manheim, PA for pastors and community leaders to pitch the vision of Men of Iron. There were churches and men there that day that partnered with us. It was a catalyst for a lot of the early growth for Men of Iron. When God gives someone a vision, look for ways to encourage and support their journeyHighlight #3 – 2014: Garret makes his first hire, John Carpenter. John is no longer an employee of Men of Iron but has been a consistent donor and advocate for years. We are grateful for consistent advocates like John!Highlight #4 - 2014: Our first fundraiser, "The Iron Sharpens Iron t-shirt" – walk in love, TJ & Brooke, created the Iron Sharpens Iron t-shirt for us. The Breakout was a 24-hour fundraiser where we sold this t-shirt. The shirt went viral, bought and worn by athletes and celebrities. It ended up being walk in love's best selling t-shirt everHighlight #5 - 2015: Meeting Dave ZilligDave shared his vision for Equilibrium, a retreat based program. A few years later Dave gifted us Equilibrium and it is now a key resource for us. Go to menofiron.org/programs/eq for more info! Dave has been an amazing donor, advocate, and board member!Listen to the Men of Iron Podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Alexa, Google Podcasts and many more!
