Don't Always Trust Your Monitor

In today's episode we are joined with Gerard (NYS AEMTP), Justin (NYS EMT-B) and our EMT-B Intern Kelsey to review a call in which a Paramedic utilizes his skills of observation to piece together a diagnosis. Sometimes EMS providers can not rely on their monitoring equipment to tell the truth. This is why knowing signs and symptoms of disease processes will assist you in deciding a treatment path without wasting time. We will discuss Hypotension, Orthostatic Vital Signs and the now debunked ATLS guidelines for Hypotension and pulses.
