Series 3, Episode 1 - "We've popped back in time to check this. Like it's poppin' to Tescos"

Greetings officers. We're finally back, ironically after a long time, for our third series, this time all on the theme of "time travel". To kick off this series hosts Mike and D.K are thrilled to welcome back newly minted "TrekkerMind" champion Rick Everson. The trio are reviewing an episode dear to Rick's heart; "Assignment: Earth" from The Original Series. But at least one of our hosts doesn't seem to share Rick's affection! There's discussion about the genesis of this story (as a failed attempt at a back-door pilot for an intended spin-off), it's historical context, the reappearance of it's concepts in more modern Trek, an examination of acting, direction, music and more. This all culminates in the usual personal conclusions and scores. But before all that we have the epic return of the "Hit or Miss" section. This time around there's debate and discussion of a time travel vessel, a new favourite character, an early Enterprise episode, a couple of two-dimensional treats and more.
