Acronym for loving and respecting your spouse:

Acronym for making your wife feel loved: "Couple"

C. Closeness

 •hold her hand

 •hug her

 •be affectionate without sexual intentions

O. Openness

 •share your feelings

 •tell her about your day and challenges

 •talk without harshness, guardedness or

  grunting

U. Understanding

 •listen to her (know when to give advice and  

  when to not solve)

 •repeat back what she said so she knows

  you're listening to her

 •express appreciation for her contribution and

  roles

P. Peacemaking

 •admit when you are wrong and apologize

 •keep the relationship up to date, resolve the

  unresolved, don't say "forget it"

 •pray together after a hurtful time

L. Loyalty

 •don't look at other women

 •speak only positive things about her in front  

  of others

 •do not bring up the "D" word (divorce)

E. Esteem

 •verbally support and honor her in front of the

  children

 •praise her for what she does for you

 •value her opinion

Acronym for Respecting your Husband: "Chairs"

 

Acronym for making your husband feel respect:

 

C. Conquest

 •thank him for working every day for the

  family

 •cheer his success 

 •ask him about his dreams

H. Hierarchy

 •show him how you appreciate how he cares

  for you

 •tell him you are touched by his willingness to

  die for you

 •praise his commitment to provide

A. Authority

 •tell him he's strong

 •praise his good deeds

 •honor his authority in front of the kids

I. Insight

 •thank him for his advice and knowledge

 •let him fix things and applaud his solutions

 •tell him upfront when you need "an ear" to

  listen and not a solution

R. Relationship

 •tell him you like him

 •do recreational activities with him, or cheer

  for him as he does them

 •encourage alone time for him

S. Sexuality

 •initiate periodically

 •respond more often
