Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram is a joyful, optimistic kirtan chanted by new yoga teachers during a satsang at Yoga Vidya www.yoga-vidya.de Bad Meinberg, Germany. It touches the heart, awakens the spirits, and generates confidence and new energy. Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram was one of the favorite kirtans of Mahatma Gandhi. This kirtan is the theme song in the film “Gandhi.”
The kirtan:
Raghupati-raghava Raja Ram
Patita-pavana Sita Ram
Sita Ram (jaya), Sita Ram
Sita Ram Jaya Radhe Shyam
Radhe Shyam (jaya), Radhe Shyam
Radhe Shyam Jaya Sitaram // 1 //
Ishvara Allah Tere Nam
Sab(a) Ko Sanmati De Bhagavan
Raghupati-raghava Raja Ram
Patita-pavana Sitaram // 2 //
Spiritual translation:
We worship the Divine, the great Lord of the universe. O God, you are the comfort of all who have fallen. You manifest yourself as Sita and Rama, as Radha and Shyama (Krishna). Please give us all insight, O God. Ishwara and Allah are your names - Let us love all people.
