Wayne Anthony is considered a global pioneer of large scale dance parties in the UK, back in 1988, during the Acid House Explosion. Under the banner of Genesis'88, Wayne organised and promoted over forty events catering for thousands of people. These events were the first of their kind in Europe as they were staged in venues across the country. Locations such as large storage warehouses, film studios and country fields were commandeered to cater for the masses. Wayne helped to establish the pirate radio networks as the key source of information for dance parties during the period. He helped lobby government to grant full licences to event promoters and nightclub owners to extend opening hours until 8am (where requested) and licence any space for large scale dance parties. This was a first in British history and changed the direction of the entire country.
He is also the Author of one of my favorite books of all time, and one that helped shape my own future as a professional Dj.
