Seventy percent of Brits [英國人; British] are unhappy where they live. Sixty percent of Americans want to live in a different city after they retire [退休]. People

everywhere dream of living in a different place. Most people simply move to a different city, but not everybody. Some people move to a different country. Year after year thousands of people get up the courage to live out their dream — they move abroad.

People have many reasons for leaving their home countries. Sometimes people move because of work. Sometimes people move because they want to study abroad. A few people move because of love. When people live abroad they learn to speak new languages. They learn about different cultures [文化]. Living abroad forces [逼迫] people to grow up [長大、成長; begin to behave or think like an adult] and be independent. It’s often one of the most memorable experiences a person can have.
