The Pentecast: Day 7 - Lizzie Redman

It’s day 7 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Lizzie Redman, a longtime friend of the church, joining host Tim Matthews for a colourful (and musical!) look at the life of Joseph — yes, the one with the technicolour dreamcoat.

Spanning Genesis 37–50, Joseph’s journey is packed with drama — betrayal by his brothers, false accusations, time in prison, and eventually rising to power in Egypt. Lizzie reflects on his resilience and integrity, but also the power of dreams and interpretation that runs throughout his story. She encourages us to actively ask God for dreams and pictures to strengthen others — even on the school run or the streets — stepping into a life of expectation, not just consumption.

The episode closes with a powerful prayer that we’d not only seek those God-given dreams but also grow in the character and maturity to steward them well. Joseph may have started out a little cocky, but by the end, he’s a man of grace and wisdom — a living example of how God can take what was meant for harm and turn it into good.
