The Pentecast: Day 28 - Prue Bedwell

It’s day 28 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Prue Bedwell, joining Tim Matthews for a moving double reflection on John 4 (Jesus and the Samaritan woman) and John 11 (the raising of Lazarus).

In John 4, Jesus crosses social, religious, and moral boundaries to meet a woman at a well — someone rejected by her community. But instead of judgement, Jesus offers her living water, and a chance at a fresh, eternal life. The result? Joy, healing, and a ripple of evangelism through her town. In John 11, we see another side of Jesus: the one who weeps at the death of his friend Lazarus. Even as he proclaims, “I am the resurrection and the life,” he shares in the grief of those around him. Prue reflects on how Jesus holds both — the promise of eternal hope, and the compassion of shared sorrow.

Their prayer is especially for the grieving and the hurting — that they’d know Christ’s nearness, his tears, and his resurrection power. A beautiful invitation to trust him in both joy and pain. See you tomorrow for Day 29.
