It’s day 16 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Prue Bedwell, back with Tim Matthews to take on one of the biggest themes so far — the major prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel.
These prophets carried heavy messages from God to His people — calling them to repentance, warning them of exile, and pointing forward to hope and restoration. Prue shares from Daniel 4, where King Nebuchadnezzar, fresh from a humbling (and grass-eating) experience, declares that everything God does is right and just. Even when life doesn’t make sense, God is still good. Tim focuses in on Isaiah 53, that famous prophecy of the suffering servant — Jesus. “He was pierced for our transgressions… by his wounds we are healed.” These words, written centuries before Christ, lay the foundation for our understanding of the cross.
Their prayer is a deep one — anchoring us in the justice and mercy of God. When things seem off-kilter or confusing, we can come back to this truth: God’s ways are just, and Jesus has carried our iniquity so that we can walk in peace and healing. See you tomorrow for Day 17!
