It’s day 15 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Ella Jenkinson, returning to chat with Tim Matthews about one of the Bible’s most emotionally raw and theologically stretching books — Job.
The story of Job is a challenging read. A good man who suffers terribly, not because he’s done anything wrong, but because he's being tested — and throughout, the question looms: can we trust God when life falls apart? Ella and Tim reflect on how Job doesn't give us easy answers to suffering, but it does give us something real — permission to ask, weep, rage, and wrestle with God. Far from being shut down, Job’s honesty is drawn out, and in the end, God meets him there. This is a book that reminds us: God isn’t afraid of our pain or our questions.
Their prayer is for anyone facing their own wilderness season — that they might find peace in pain, strength in doubt, and courage to trust God even when nothing makes sense. As Job once said, “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” See you tomorrow for Day 16.
