It’s day 13 of our daily Pentecast on LOVECHURCH — The Podcast. Today’s guest is Clement Tracol, bringing thoughtful reflection and a touch of Gallic flair as he joins Tim Matthews to unpack the rise of Israel’s kings and prophets in 1 & 2 Samuel.

It’s the big story arc: from Saul, Israel’s first king, who falls from grace through disobedience, to David — the shepherd boy turned giant-slayer — who’s famously described as a man after God’s own heart. Clement and Tim discuss David’s incredible confidence in God when facing Goliath, as well as his deeper, more mature moments of devotion later in life. Even when David’s plans are interrupted — like when he’s told he won’t be the one to build the temple — God honours the intention of his heart. It’s a powerful reminder that God sees not just what we do, but why we do it.
