Deborah Anderson on Women of the White Buffalo, Healing and Transformation

Estelle talks to photographer and film maker Deborah Anderson. Together they discuss the vital role art can play in creating positive change and Deborah’s own spiritual awakening which was preceded by a personal and physical crisis. Deborah also describes the moment she was introduced to a group of disenfranchised Lakota women – a Native American tribe from South Dakota – and how this transformed her professionally and personally. Her relationship with these women, many of whom have suffered great violence against them, led to her film Women of the White Buffalo which will be released later this year.
