5 minutes to balance our mind: - “Embracing change”
- The only thing constant in life is change, but why are we so resistant to change?
- It could be fear or uncertainty that comes with a new job, technology, serious illness, loss of a loved one, or life circumstances. Fear of the unknown, for what we thought was going to be is no longer.
- So, we know change is going to happen? We can either fear and run, deny and hide, or confront and evolve.
Let’s choose to confront and evolve:
- take a moment and understand (if positive) or grieve (if negative). Allow yourself to process it. By reaching out to people that can help you process the change. It could be people that have been in that situation or a therapist especially in the event that you are grieving a change.
- During the process, it is important to be introspective and look for things that will allow the change to enable us to grow.
- Feeling sorry for yourself or blaming yourself or others is counterproductive. It’s important to look at your part or contributions and learn from it.
Life is a journey, if we embrace change, we evolve by learning new things, skills, and qualities that makes us the better version of ourselves that can propel and transform us both personally and professionally.
