The Minnesota Wild picked up their third consecutive win as they defeated the Washington Capitals 4-2 on Tuesday night in Washington. The Capitals handled most of the action in the first period before the Wild scored 3 times in the second thanks to two goals from Jared Spurgeon and a goal from Jonas Brodin. The Wild were able to also get an empty net goal from Joel Eriksson Ek to seal the win. Filip Gustavsson picked up his 11th win of the year as he held the Capitals scoreless for the final frame as the Wild improved to 6-2-1 in their last 9 road games.
