On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Alex Micheletti joins for a Micheletti Monday, and we recap the first weekend of action in the NHL. We start with the Wild, who started the season 2-0 with a couple of nice road wins against Anaheim and Los Angeles. We looked at the best part of the weekend for the Wild, which was far and away the play of Cam Talbot. We also played "Overreaction or Not" with a few key questions:
We move to the Central division, and ask if it's time to panic for Chicago and Winnepeg with their goalies off to bad starts. We also point out that Darcy Kuemper is back to his old tricks again with great starts and awful starts being alternated. At the NHL level, we hit the panic button on the Vegas Golden Knights, who can't look to Jack Eichel to provide them instant relief with Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone both injured. We give Buffalo some credit for a good start to their season, debate whether or not Alexander Ovechkin can have a monster year this year in his quest to break Gretzky's goal record, and give Marco Rossi a shoutout for his first career AHL goal. A jam packed start to your week!
