LOCKED ON SUNS 3/5/2020: What happens next following Deandre Ayton’s ankle injury

The hits just keep on coming to the 2019-20 Suns roster. A week after Kelly Oubre Jr. went down with a season-ending meniscus tear, Deandre Ayton is now on the injury report. For the third time this season, Ayton is suffering from ankle issues.

Is it time to examine the Puma shoes with Ayton as a possible cause for these injuries? If Ayton is out the remainder of the season, he would only play 101 games in his first two NBA seasons.

How will the Suns respond? Is it even possible to fill 35-40 points nightly without Ayton and Oubre? We look ahead to their first test of that against the Portland Trail Blazers and Milwaukee Bucks.
