What if... Blake Wheeler didn't refuse to sign with the Phoenix Coyotes?

It's another episode of the Locked On Coyotes "What If" series. On today's episode Robyn and Carl travel all the way back to 2008, Blake Wheeler, drafted 5th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry draft by the Phoenix Coyotes, is due up to sign his entry level contract. In this universe, Wheeler refused, opted for free agency, and signed his ELC with the Boston Bruins, and was then traded to the Atlanta Thrashers before its expiration.

So today, let's take a look at an alternate Universe... a universe where Blake Wheeler walked into GM Don Maloney's office with his signed ELC in his hands. He has joined the Phoenix Coyotes and will play for head coach Wayne Gretzky.... How different would both his career path and Phoenix/Arizona's franchise trajectory have changed if this was the case?
