Elfrid Payton for four years was at least a passable starting point guard. Not what the Magic needed, but good enough. Not someone who could take the team to the next level though. And so Orlando had to move on.
While D.J. Augustin has performed admirably, it is clear he does not fit the team's future and the Magic are going to want to fish for a point guard. That was the risk of letting Payton go. And even as Payton struggles and the Phoenix Suns realize all the problems Magic fans knew... the point guard question remains.
