Celtics POSTCAST- Celtics Fall by 20 to Pistons as Streak End

The Celtics (42-17) 6-Game win streak & 8-Game road win streak both ended Wednesday night with the Detroit Pistons thumping the Celtics, (117-97) at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.  The Pistons beat the Celtics for the 1st time since February 16, 2022, ending a 12-Game losing streak to Boston.  The Pistons extended their win streak to 8 in a row.  It's the Celtics 1st road loss since losing by 21 to the Lakers in Los Angeles on January 23.

No Brown For C's: Jaylen Brown missed his 10th Game of the season for the Celtics on Wednesday because of a left thigh contusion.  The Celtics are now (7-3) without Brown out of the lineup. Luke Kornet also missed his 2nd straight game due to personal reasons.

Scoring Leaders: Jayton Tatum led the Celtics with 27 Points.  Al Horford had 9 Points and 10 Rebounds.  Derrick White hit 5 3's and scored 18.  Payton Pritchard hit 5 3's and scored 18.  Kristaps Porzingis scored just 11 Points on 4-for-11 from the Field.

#'s of the Night: The Celtics hit 21 3's in the loss and have now hit 15 or more 3's in 14 straight games.  The Celtics trailed by 11 going to the 4th Quarter. It was only the 5th time this season where they trailed by 10 or more after 3 Quarters.  The Celtics are now 8-2 in February with 1 more game remaining in the month.  The Celtics finish the season going 3-1 vs. the Pistons.  Wednesday's loss was the 2nd road loss of the season by 20 or more for the Celtics.

1st-Half Nuggets: Jayson Tatum scored 12 of the Celtics 20 1st-Quarter Points. The Celtics took a 2-Point Lead at 20-18 on a Payton Pritchard 3-Pointer in the 1st Quater, but Detroit closed on an 11-0 run and led by 9 after the 1st 12 Minutes.  The Celtics hit 11 3's in the 2nd Quarter and 14 in the 1st Half.  The game was tied at 55-55 at Halftime.  Derrick White hit 4 3's and scored 12 Points in the 2nd Quarter.

Up Next: The Celtics close out February with a home match-up against the Cavaliers on Friday and that will be the 1st Game of a 7-Game Homestand. Boston hosts the Denver Nuggets on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.  The Celtics close the homestand vs. the OKC Thunder on Wednesday, March 12.
