Damian Lillard scores 40 but the Trail Blazers lose late to Jamal Murray, Denver Nuggets

Vintage Dame Time Spoiled. Damian Lillard scored 40 points and dished out 12 assists in a classically spectacular performance but the Trail Blazers still lost 121-120 to the Denver Nuggets when Jamal Murray hit a three-pointer with 0.9 seconds left.

It was a brutal final 10 seconds, but this loss came in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter when the Blazers gave away a double-digit lead.

Chauncey Billups was as mad as he has been all year after this loss. It was a telling moment from a coach and probably a good sign that this loss in December stung as much as it did.
